Privacy Promise

Esopus Fire Rescue runs this website to share information with the public. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising on this site, and we collect as little as we can.

What we collect

The only thing we collect is anonymous traffic data through Google Analytics. This tells us things like:

  • How many people visited the site this week * Which pages are read most often
  • Roughly what part of the world visitors are coming from (city or region level)
  • Whether visitors are using a phone, tablet, or computer

We use this to understand which information is helpful to the community and where we should focus our updates.

What we do not collect

  • We do not ask you to create an account
  • We do not run a contact form on this site that stores your messages — to reach us, you’ll use a phone number or email address listed on the Contact page, and those messages live in normal email, not on this website
  • We do not allow comments on news posts
  • We do not use third-party advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or social media pixels

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognize repeat visitors anonymously. These are first-party cookies under our domain and contain only a randomized identifier — they do not store your name, email, or any personal information.

You can block, delete, or limit cookies through your browser’s settings at any time. Doing so will not break this site. You can also opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Information shared by Google

Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC. Their handling of the anonymous data we send is governed by the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not control that policy and we do not receive personally identifiable information back from Google.

Children

This website is intended for the general public. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, we do not have personal records to look up, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have questions about this policy, please reach us through our Contact page.

Changes

If we ever start collecting more information — for example, by adding a contact form or a newsletter signup — we will update this page first and note the change date below.

This policy was last updated on 4/29/2026.
